The Sano 160R has a Folded Line reverb tank from O.C. Electronics, Inc. These were made in Milton, WI during an era when working conditions were important, but what was considered appropriate workplace behavior and professionalism were not quite as e
Sano? More like SanYES! These are super cool amps from the 60s and 70s primarily for the accordion crowd. Fairly low gain for guitar due to the circuit and tube complement, but super deep tremolo and luscious reverb. I added a cathode bypass cap on t
Wait… Another Peavey Triple Ex (no, I don’t want to post those three letters…) amp head??? This one had a busted shockproof fuse holder, which of course is mounted to a printed circuit board.

Luckily, I have these fuse holders i
A modern classic: the Vox AC15C1. Just finished up the common “bright cap“ mod, which is really removing two small value capacitors from the tone circuit to reduce treble in certain situations.

Did I painstakingly disconnect every ribbo
Check out what a customer found **in the garbage** — a 1955 Valco-made #Gretsch Electromatic sans-tweed amp with tremolo! Lots of rad octal tubes, “doorstop” foot switch, and original speaker. Can’t wait to make this baby sing
The fender blues Junior is ready to slide on out of here
Passing @martinguitar tops from the 1940s around the room here at the @fretboardsummit.

Light weight and loud #hovercraftamps head, a reworked @jetcityamps 20 watt head. Had a bad tube and dead LED pilot light assembly, which research shows to be practically impossible to find. Remarkably I had one in my own inventory! She’s ready
Testing #vacuumtubes on a #Hickok 752 fixed and modified by one of the last Hickok #TubeTester techs around. Thanks, Bill!
This has to be one of the cleanest 1962 Gibson GA19-RVT Falcons around. All original tubes tested super strong and are noise free. Large electrolytic capacitors were donezoes, though, and I built structures for new filter caps and installed a grounde
Friends: ”How’s the amp-repair thing going?”
Me: “Not bad.”
This rare Tyler Amp Works JV-14 was sounding a little funky. No more after a thorough servicing! Just a little love, T-dawg.
Twinning?
I just finished restoring a 1962 Epiphone Pathfinder (Gibson Falcon) for a customer. Everything went well, but I had to deal with the hard-wired foot-switch, which had been cut off and is long gone. As is the reverb was on all the time, but no tremol
This almost 100% original 1962 Epiphone Pathfinder / Gibson Falcon is in for a massive overhaul. Filter caps are completely shot, hardwired foot switch has been hacked off, and the grounded AC cord was just spliced into the original 2-prong cord ungr
